TLILIC2014B Licence to drive a light rigid vehicle
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
On completion of your training and assessment you will be able to drive any rigid vehicle including:
- A rigid truck above 4.5 tonnes GVM but less than or equal to 8 tonnes GVM
- A rigid bus with less than or equal to 8 tonnes GVM or seats more than 12 adults including the driver
ELIGIBILITY
- You must be at least 19 years old
- You must have held an Australian photo drivers licence for at least 12 months
- No previous heavy vehicle driving experience necessary
TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
This licence will allow you to drive a light rigid vehicle including trucks and buses used for aged care homes, schools, clubs and sporting organisations. You will learn:
- Road Law
- Cabin checks
- Pre-driving safety inspections
- Starting and stopping sequence
- Turning and handling
- Reversing and manoeuvring
- Vehicle positioning
- Required knowledge
Assessment is a one-on-one road test with an approved RTA Assessor.
EQUIPMENT
We provide registered light rigid vehicles for your training, loaded to at least 75% of legal weight (except for passenger vehicles).
The load must be restrained in accordance with load restraint guide.
WHAT TO BRING
- Current NSW photo licence or truck licence
- Log Book
- Wear closed-in shoes
