TLILIC2016B Licence to drive a heavy rigid vehicle
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
On completion of your training and assessment you will be able to drive any rigid vehicle including truck or bus:
- Rigid vehicle not being an unladen prime mover with a minimum of 3 axles and a minimum of 15 tonnes GVM
- Modified three axle prime mover with a certified detachable tray (with capacity to carry 75% of its specified GVM) with a GVM of 15 tonnes
- Three axle articulated bus above 15 tonnes GVM
ELIGIBILITY
- You must be at least 20 years old
- You must have held an Australian photo drivers licence for at least 2 years
- If you have a car licence or have held a LR and/or MR licence for less than 12 months then you must obtain a HR Learner License
TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
This licence will allow you to drive a heavy rigid vehicle in a safe and professional manner. You will learn:
- Road Law
- Cabin checks and obstacles
- Pre-departure safety inspections
- Starting and stopping sequence
- Kerbside stop
- Parking and positioning
- Restraining your load
- Prescribed routes
- Long reversing and manoeuvring
- Gearboxes and their uses
- Defensive Driving
- Monitoring vehicle performance
Assessment is a one-on-one road test with an approved RTA Assessor.
EQUIPMENT
We provide registered heavy rigid vehicles for your training, loaded to at least 75% of legal weight (except for passenger vehicles).
The load must be restrained in accordance with load restraint guide.
WHAT TO BRING
- Current NSW photo licence or truck licence
- Log Book
- Wear closed-in shoes
WE TRAIN 7 DAYS A WEEK
