From time to time, these unlikely events happen, so we set out our policy here for participants to understand. We talk about this again at the enrolment and induction before training commences.
- Medical emergency
Participants give permission for our RTO staff to ring an ambulance in the event of a medical emergency and understand that you must bear the cost of this service and not hold our company or staff responsible for this or any related medical costs.
- Fines for speeding while in our vehicles
Participants have a driving license already and must be aware of the road rules and speed limits whilst driving the truck. If you are fined for speeding or traffic light offences or any other offences whilst driving the truck under instruction, these fines and demerit points are in your name and your responsibility.
- Accidents in the vehicle
Participants accept that you will take all care and responsibility for the truck whilst driving or operating the forklift on the worksite. The instructor cannot control the vehicle when the participant is driving, so you must accept responsibility for any accidents that occur and damage whilst you are in control. All vehicles are fully insured but where accidents and repairs happen and the participant is at fault, the participant agrees to pay the costs of repair. The costs and details will be provided in detail by the company.
- Breakdowns
Participants accept that vehicle breakdowns do occur. Every effort will be made to repair a vehicle or find a suitable substitute to conduct the training on your booked day for minimum disruption. If this is not possible, alternate dates or times, alternate vehicles or other arrangements will be offered. But no guarantees can be made by the company in the case of breakdowns. We cannot compensate the participant for lost time or work days under these circumstances.
